What is Contact Karma?
Contact Karma is a social recommendation engine that stocks B-B deals for local Chicago business owners and execs to take advantage of. Contact Karma is simple to use…business owners and execs in Chicago seeking a deal on a corporate product or service can head to our site and enter the vendor type (PR firm, bookkeeper, lawyer, web design firm) that they are looking for into our home page. We then give them a series of vendor suggestions and deals, ordered by who in their local business community and network likes and uses the vendor. Our daily flash deals also offer 24-hour access to discounts on things like local events, office lunches, and team outings. Deals on our site range from everything to marketing to office space to event planning to bookkeeping to legal services, and deal sizes can range from $10-$35,000. To get a good sense of the deals inside our site, sign up as a consumer.
What is Contact Karma's mission?
- We want to halve costs for new startup companies in the U.S.
- We want to provide local social context for new entrepreneurs on vendors to reduce the number of small businesses wipeouts due to spending critical cash dollars on a bad vendor.
- We want to allow local cities and communities and groups to be able to identify other companies in their area or network, and sell to or buy from those companies to promote local commerce.
What is the best way to get started on the site?
If you are a consumer, simply do a search on our home page! The first time you enter our site, we will ask you for some quick registration info, but other than that, you're good to go! If you are a vendor, click the Vendors link at the top right hand side of our site to register and post your first deal!
Can I see my customers’ information directly?
If you are a vendor, you can’t see a customer’s info directly, but you can see a comment that they post on you. This would show up in the public profile of your account that non-logged-in users would see.
I am an Affiliate network or Affiliate that wants to work with your site. Do you have an Affiliate program?
We will have one in future, but we don’t have one yet. Keep checking back to see if we’ve got one in future, or contact us using the Contact Us link above to be added to an email list when Affiliates does do live.
What does this cost?
Contact Karma is free to use! We just take a commission on the sales that we send to you. The day after we sell an offer for you, your check will be in the mail. To learn what our commissions is for your business or industry, contact us at support@contactkarma.com, or at 855-282-2489 .
How do I post offers within the Contact Karma site as a vendor?
You can post an offer while registering on the Contact Karma site, or you can post an deal inside the site, by clicking on the Offers Tab. Simply fill out the deal header, value, price, description, and expiration, and you’re offer will be submitted to our team to review! We’ll review and post it within 48 business hours.
Can I target the offers I post on your site?
Yes—you can target your deals to customers that use you now, and also to their network. You can also send your offers to both your current customers and their networks combined. More targeting features will be added in future.
Is my information safe with you?
Contact Karma is a very private site. For more information on our Privacy settings, please see our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
How can I edit or delete an offer?
Your Offers tab allows you to easily edit or delete offers, and also to test offers to see which ones convert customers the best. You can even push your offers out to your Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare followers, if you want!
How can I track the offers I am selling?
Contact Karma’s Track and Redeem tab allows you to see the offers that you have sold, including customer name, offer number, date sold, and offer value and price. The tab also lets you click to notate if an offer has been redeemed, so that you can easily track which customers have redeemed offers and which have not.
Can I manage multiple accounts through the Contact Karma site, if I have a franchise, or several stores or businesses?
Yes…your Contact Karma account allows you to add multiple profiles so that you can easily manage all of your store or business’ locations, or even multiple businesses. Adding a new vendor profile is easy. You can just click the Add Profile button on the tab showing your current account when inside the site.
Can I cancel my Contact Karma account if I no longer need it?
Yes. Vendors can cancel their account easily by logging in, clicking Settings, and clicking Cancel Account, a link at the very bottom of the page. Consumers can also cancel their accounts from the Settings page.
What if a customer wants a refund or if their offer expires?
If a customer’s offer expires, or if their offer is not redeemable somehow, we will offer them a refund. However, we rely on our vendors to service the vouchers that we sell for you.
Do you remind customers if their offer is about to expire?
Yes…seven days before the offer is supposed to expire, we will send the customer an email to remind them to redeem their offer.
How do I redeem vouchers?
When users buy an offer on the Contact Karma site, they can print a voucher and bring it to you, or, if they bought the offer on their iPhone, they can show it to you on their iPhone screen.
What are KarmaPoints?
Consumers on Contact Karma can gather KarmaPoints in three ways: by adding to their network, adding vendors to their favorites list, and buying offers. KarmaPoints can lead to future rewards, so make sure to collect them as you use the site!
